Miles Taffs is coming onboard international (re)insurance broker UIB in his capacity as deputy managing director of aviation & space.

“I am very pleased to be joining such a well-respected team, in a company with a strong reputation of client service,” said the MS Amlin alumnus, who most recently served as joint active underwriter and board director of Syndicate 2001.

“It is a tremendously exciting opportunity and challenge in a market that has dynamically changed. I look forward to adding value to our client offering and delivering continued success to the UIB Group.”

Aside from MS Amlin where Taffs was previously head of aviation, the key hire also brings experience from Willis, WAIG, and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. His industry credentials span more than three decades.

Commenting on the appointment, which is effective on March 16, UIB aviation managing director Craig Fisher stated: “We are very proud of the team’s aviation & space expertise here at UIB, but with the additional knowledge and depth that Miles will bring, our offer becomes even more compelling.
