WTW has appointed Alessandro Pesci (pictured above) as EMEA reserving practice director, under its insurance consulting and technology business.

This marks Pesci’s return to WTW, where he held several roles in actuarial risk consulting and software from 2008 to 2021. He was most recently head of actuarial reserving at Generali.

“I am excited to return to WTW, having gained valuable experience in the insurance industry at a global level,” Pesci said. “I look forward to working with the hugely experienced and talented insurance reserving team and the wider WTW business, helping to deliver diversified and innovative solutions for our clients.”

Pesci will be based in WTW’s Rome office, where he will work closely with local client coverage teams and EMEA sales and practice leaders. He will also lead WTW's technology and software propositions, where he will help clients manage risk and capital and provide specific consultancy on IFRS 17, reserving automation, inflation, and M&A.

“We have already worked closely with Alessandro on big and complex projects, and he brings tremendous experience and industry knowledge to this role,” said Alessandro Santoni, WTW managing director, southwest division, insurance consulting and technology. “We are delighted that he has returned to WTW and his global expertise will continue to provide strong value to our team, helping to deliver what our clients need now and in the future.”
