Allianz Insurance Plc, the British arm of Munich-headquartered Allianz, has bolstered its engineering, construction & power (EC&P) unit.

Senior technical manager Steve Kelly (pictured) has been elevated to the role of underwriting account manager, and will be in charge of the strategic leadership of the EC&P portfolio. His remit will include the setting of risk appetite and pricing as well as overseeing engineering inspection pricing and segmentation.

The RSA alum, who came onboard in 2015, is also tasked to ensure that technical excellence is embedded across the team.

“It gives me enormous pleasure to announce that Steve Kelly will take up the role of underwriting account manager for Engineering, Construction & Power,” said commercial underwriting director Catherine Dixon. “For the last four years, Steve has been the technical lead within EC&P and is a natural successor to Claire Buck.

“His knowledge and capabilities span the traditional engineering insurance, construction, and renewable energy sectors, so his expertise and leadership will play a key role in helping us achieve our ambitious plans in these markets.”
