Insurance Business UK has published its 5-Star Construction 2026 special report, identifying insurers that received recognition from brokers and insurance professionals for their work in the UK construction insurance market.

The report is based on research conducted through Insurance Business UK’s national network of brokers and industry professionals. Brokers were asked to nominate insurers they had worked with in the construction sector. Insurers receiving a sufficient number of nominations were then invited to take part in the next stage of the research, which included a detailed submission outlining their capabilities in construction insurance. The submissions covered areas including underwriting expertise, risk appetite, construction-specific product offerings, responsiveness to brokers, pricing competitiveness, and service standards.

Broker ratings form the basis of the assessment

Researchers assessed both quantitative and qualitative information submitted by participating insurers. Final scores were determined primarily by broker ratings across key performance indicators relevant to construction insurance. The assessment also considered the consistency of insurers’ service and the level of support provided to construction clients and brokers.

The 5-Star Construction designation was awarded to organisations that achieved the required broker ratings while demonstrating high performance across underwriting, product offerings, and service delivery in the construction insurance market.
