Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has confirmed 10 charities that will each receive a share of £500,000 as part of its Movement for Good awards.

Each charity selected will benefit from a grant of £50,000, meaning that a total of 500 charities have now received donations helping the insurer to a total of £1 million in contributions this summer.

So what are those 10 charities?

  • Lily Mae Foundation – Provides bereavement support to families who have lost a baby in the West Midlands.
  • Tastelife UK – Aims to support those with eating disorders and will be launching a Youth Track Development scheme.
  • Breast Cancer UK Ltd – It provides digital learning to help prevent breast cancer.
  • Shared Lives Plus Limited – Which is developing a homeshare in Scotland.
  • Power2 – Which focuses on teens and toddlers.
  • The Challenger Trust – It will help schools in Birmingham.
  • The Linskill and North Tyneside Community Development Trust – Will assist with its Project Langley.
  • Thomas’s Fund – Will assist Kettering General Hospital, Pen Green Children’s Centre and Community & Family Connections scheme.
  • Parents Plus Company Limited by Guarantee – Is helping to transform disability services across the UK and Ireland.
  • Tackling Awareness of Mental Health Issues – The cash will help with its Resilient Active Youth programme.

“We were pretty blown away when we were told we were fortunate enough to be one of the winners,” said Ryan Jackson founder and MD of the Lily Mae Foundation. “The project that the money will go towards is a very unique one-to-one baby loss support service. For those bereaved parents who have sadly lost a baby, having a service like this is a lifeline. We plan on using the money to bring in other bereavement support workers so we can offer more appointments for our service.”
