Manchester-based business development manager Bob Birtwell (pictured) has made the switch from Chubb to Brunel Professions.

Joining the wholesale division at the professional indemnity (PI) insurance specialist, Birtwell will be working with the team in Bristol and London to further strengthen the company’s wholesale professional indemnity proposition.

“I’ve enjoyed eight years working with some incredible insurance companies, such as AXA, Aspen Risk Management, and Chubb,” said the BDM. “They have helped develop my skills in working with brokers, understanding their needs and the challenges they face.

“When Brunel outlined its vision for this role and the trajectory of the company as part of the Howden Group, I realised this was an incredible opportunity to join an ambitious team where I can grow and develop while bringing a unique perspective to the table. I am looking forward to becoming part of the Brunel team and providing a comprehensive solution to our broker partners.”

The appointment was described as a “key step” in the firm’s strategy to help support and engage with UK insurance brokers.

For managing director Dylan Hughes, Birtwell’s wealth of experience represents an additional layer of expertise to the “excellent and dynamic” wholesale division at Brunel Professions.

Meanwhile divisional director of wholesale John Stagg commented: “I have known Bob for several years; his reputation, experience, and drive makes him a great fit for Brunel and a real asset in helping us grow our wholesale PI offering to brokers up and down the country.

“He is an exciting addition to the team, and we welcome Bob to Brunel and look forward to working with him.”
