Ventis, a new managing general agent in London that is backed by Mission Underwriters and Accelerant Insurance Europe, has begun trading.

Announcing its launch, Ventis said it will be working closely with a select group of brokers to write medium-sized property risks and offer cover extensions spanning buildings, loss of rent, employers’ liability, property owners’ liability, terrorism, and optional legal expenses.

The real estate MGA will cater to both commercial and residential properties under the leadership of Gareth Roberts (pictured third from left). The chief executive is joined by senior development underwriters Holly Mist (pictured second from left) and Rob Murton (pictured leftmost) and underwriter Zoe Hughes (pictured rightmost).        

“Ventis is designed to be a breath of fresh air for the property insurance market,” Roberts declared. “Our ethos is based on prioritising high-quality service to brokers and clients and using this as the platform to build productive partnerships that will last for the long term.

“We provide flexible underwriting services to the same high standards as the major players but are committed to investing in broker relationships and giving them easy access to underwriters, as well as rapid service delivery.”

According to the newly launched provider, its focus will be on standard risks that are overlooked by the bigger insurers.

Roberts, whose credentials include years spent at Covéa and AXA, believes there is a “huge” market opportunity for a real estate MGA such as Ventis.
