It was today announced that Amanda Blanc has joined the board of London-based RightIndem as non-executive chair. Blanc’s role within the digital claims provider will be to help the company deliver its ambition of fundamentally changing the way customers experience insurance at the point of claim.

This latest appointment comes after news that Blanc is taking on the role of independent non-executive chair of Aviva. Blanc is also to undertake the roles of non-executive director and chair-designate of ERSSML at specialist motor insurer ERS, as well as non-executive director of its holding company ERS DGB Ltd.

Since 2016, RightIndem has been attempting to put the customer in control of their insurance claims through its AI-driven, self-service software claims ecosystem.

Speaking on RightIndem, Blanc said: “I have had the privilege of meeting many great insurtechs and start-ups as I pulled together my portfolio over the last few months. In RightIndem I found a really special team with an elegant software solution that can be easily adopted by insurance claims providers.”

This appointment comes following Blanc’s 30-year senior insurance career at a UK and European level and Blanc said the main attraction of working with RightIndem was the potential opportunity to deal with the perennial problem of disjointed claims service experiences.

She said: “Bringing new thinking into the industry is something I have been advocating for some time and I look forward to helping RightIndem in their efforts to do just that.”

Addressing Blanc’s appointment, Oliver McGuinness, RightIndem CEO, said: “We are delighted to have Amanda on board and are really pleased that she believes in our vision. Her credentials and experience are second to none and I am confident she will help us become the digital claims solution of choice for the industry.”

With Blanc’s appointment, Rob Wirszycz, who had served as chair since the formation of RightIndem moves to a new role as vice chairman on the board, with responsibility for investor relations.
