Mark Boon, founder and chief executive of Lloyd’s broker La Playa Partners, has added distriBind chairman to his credentials.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as chairman at distriBind,” posted Boon on LinkedIn. The London-based insurtech offers delegated authority management through a platform that uses machine learning and automation.
According to distriBind, Boon was already involved with the digital data exchange prior to being named chair.
“Understanding the need to move beyond spreadsheets and sharing Dave’s passion for innovation, Mark invested in distriBind before joining as chairman,” said distriBind, referring to CEO Dave Connors. “Mark provides board oversight as well as business development and fundraising support.”
Connors, who founded the insurtech to “cure” the insurance industry of its supposed addiction to spreadsheets, added that Boon first invested in distriBind two years ago.
The distriBind chief noted: “He’s been able to play a more active role in recent months, and over the summer - in particular his moral and financial support has been essential… We have some really big stuff happening, and I’m absolutely delighted to have Mark alongside me to help us really take off.”
