SuperFriend, a mental health organisation that partners with superannuation funds and group insurers to support employers across Australia, has welcomed AustSafe Super CEO Craig Stevens to its board of directors as non-executive fund representative director.

Stevens, who previously served as a member of SuperFriend’s nominations committee, brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, across superannuation, group risk, and investment management, to his new role.

He is a member of the Economic Society of Australia (Queensland) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has also held other non-executive director roles, including at infrastructure investment firm Gardior and children's charity Variety.

Steven's “passion and support for industry super funds and his experience in serving on a number of industry boards and committees will be of immense value to SuperFriend and its board,” said David Atkin, SuperFriend chair.

SuperFriend CEO Margo Lydon said Steven's “commitment to the mental health of his own employees shows that he will not only bring business strategy and corporate governance expertise but will be a great champion for the value of a well workforce.”
