An accident and health underwriting agency has announced two internal appointments.

AHI promoted Jarrod O’Connor to national underwriting manager and Rob Hickman to the NSW underwriting team leader role, which O’Connor previously held.

In his new role, O’Connor will lead the state underwriting teams in providing front-line technical leadership and market-facing strategies to support the delivery of AHI’s value proposition to the market.

O’Connor has been with AHI for seven years where he has held a number of senior underwriting roles. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance market both in broking and underwriting, having worked for Austbrokers Countrywide and OAMPS Insurance Brokers.

Hickman meanwhile joined AHI in November 2018. He brings to his new role a broking background coupled with a passion for driving business development and building relationships. Prior to AHI, he worked in GSA Insurance Brokers and InterRisk Australia.

“I am delighted to be able to make these internal appointments, where we look to continue to drive AHI’s purpose to 'Protect What Matters Most’ to our broker partners and clients” said Danny Byrnes, CEO of AHI.
