Strata insurer CHU has announced two leadership appointments.

Kimberley Jonsson, last year's winner of the Australian Insurance Industry Awards’ Young Professional of the Year, has been appointed CHU NSW-ACT state manager; while Joe Coppolecchia, CHU's deputy state manager for Queensland, has been named state manager for Queensland and Northern Territory.

In their new roles, Jonsson and Coppolecchia will be responsible for business development, key client and sales customer service, underwriting, and claims in their respective states.

Jonsson joined the strata insurer 13 years ago as a trainee customer service officer, leading to a business development manager role. She was then promoted as South Australian state manager in 2014, and in the same year made Queensland state manager.

Coppolecchia was state manager for Queensland and NT on an interim basis before the appointment. He brings to the role more than 40 years of insurance industry experience, predominantly in claims. He's worked at CHU for 17 years now, and was previously claims manager for Queensland, and more recently, business development manager for Queensland and NT.

“Both managers have a depth of strata insurance experience and knowledge in what is a complicated part of the insurance industry,” CHU CEO Bobby Lehane said. “Legislation of strata cover is constantly being modified and improved and, with each state having its own legislation, it requires a strong understanding of the nuances of strata insurance to help clients.”
