Glen Browne, Chubb’s executive vice president and regional head of accident and health for Asia Pacific, has been appointed deputy regional president for Asia Pacific and division president for Southeast Asia.

The Singapore-based leader, who retains his role as EVP and A&H head for Asia Pacific, will take charge of the general management and business results in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, reporting to Paul McNamee, senior vice president of Chubb Group and regional president for Asia Pacific.

Browne joined Chubb, then known as ACE Group, in New Zealand in 2000 as national commercial business manager, and over the next five years took on roles as regional SME manager for Asia and general manager for Taiwan’s A&H business. He left the company in 2005 and worked a range of operational and management roles at AIG, Cigna International, and Prudential Assurance. He rejoined ACE in 2012 as country president for Thailand.

Browne’s “more than two decades of experience in Asia includes successfully managing and building businesses in both developed and emerging markets,” said Juan Andrade, EVP of Chubb Group and president of overseas general insurance. “I am confident that his technical expertise, local market knowledge, and leadership skills will help us to achieve long-term profitable growth in our Asia Pacific general insurance business.”

McNamee said Browne brings strategic focus to the A&H and travel portfolios, having been a key member of the Asia-Pacific regional leadership team over the last five years.

Browne “has broad management experience encompassing underwriting, sales and marketing, product development and relationship management,” McNamee said. “As a results-driven leader with deep knowledge of the Asia markets in which we operate, he has the right combination of skills, knowledge, and capabilities for this new position.”
