With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the insurance industry to go digital, more insurers and underwriters have decided to improve their digital services – and specialist construction underwriter MECON Insurance (MECON) is the most recent company to launch a new and improved system.

The MECONLINE system was designed to enhance and simplify quoting accessibility and save brokers’ time.

MECON chief operating officer Peta Ross explained that the previous system was already hard to use due to old age, compelling the underwriter to make it modern, simple, and easy to use.

“Our old system was showing its age and was a bit clunky, but we didn’t just want to give it a make-over,” Ross said.

The new MECONLINE system:

  • Features templates that can be saved for regularly requested project types;
  • Allows users to copy text to save double entry into the user’s invoicing systems;
  • Allows users to generate tailored certificates of currency; and
  • Provides enhanced user experience.

Users can use the new system by going to broker.meconline.com.au and either signing up or logging in. It has a quick tutorial to help users navigate the different sections: clients, quotes, policies, and claims.
