The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) has made a couple of announcements regarding its morning seminar series and underwriting expos amid ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

UAC said the start of its morning seminar series for 2020 will be delayed until at least August “as a sign of corporate responsibility” and “a reflection of suggestions for social distancing, where practical.” It said it will “review the situation closer to August when, hopefully, a clearer picture of the situation within Australia with the COVID-19 outbreak will have emerged.”

Regarding the status of its Melbourne and Brisbane Underwriting Expos, UAC said it will advise members “as soon as information is available.” The Melbourne and Brisbane Underwriting Expos are currently scheduled on May 22 and July 15, respectively.
