Data science fintech Incited has welcomed insurance industry expert John Blundell to its board as a new adviser as the company continues to rapidly expand within the industry.

Blundell brings to the team a wealth of insurance leadership experience from his previous roles as managing director of Ecclesiastical Insurance, Sterling Insurance Group, and St Andrew's Group.

He commended Incited's unique platform that allows insurers and brokers to take advantage of the latest technologies without the usual problems associated with getting the benefits of data science quickly into production.

“I am delighted to be working with an exciting, rapidly growing business such as Incited,” Blundell said.

Nick Turner, CEO and founder of Incited, said the firm is pleased to welcome John to its advisory board as he adds further expertise and guidance to its team.

“His standing within the industry speaks volumes and will help further cement our aspirations to become a market leader of data science as a service in the insurance industry,” Turner added.

Blundell's appointment is the third senior hire at Incited in 2021, following those of David Blake the as chief financial officer (CFO) and Dan Fiehn as the chief operating officer (COO).

Before joining Incited, Blake served as a director of corporate finance, finance director, and CFO and worked with brands such as Lyca Group, Liberty Telecom, Cable & Wireless, BT Group Pitch Well Group, and Ideal Shopping Direct.

As the CFO of Incited, he oversees all aspects of the company's financial management, actively supports its growth with investor relations, produces and influences its key financial metrics, and ensures its plans are effectively capitalised, governed, and compliant.

Meanwhile, Fiehn has more than 30 years of experience in operational, technology, and leadership roles in global financial services brands, including Aon, HBOS, LTSB, and Sterling Insurance. When leading Markerstudy, he was the architect of the digital strategy and helped the team bring the business and technology organisations together.

As the COO of Incited, he is responsible for the company's operational delivery, ensuring processes and technologies scale with its business.  He also actively supports the leadership team with new business development while leading the company's innovation and ESG agendas.
