The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) has made adjustments to a number of its client payments.

Starting July 01, ACC clients who have been receiving weekly compensation for more than 26 weeks will have their payments increased by 1.84%.

The new gross maximum rate of weekly compensation payable will be $1,976.46 per week. The new gross minimum rate of weekly compensation payable to a full-time earner will be $528.00.

For ACC clients receiving other grants and allowances, their non-taxable entitlements (Independence Allowance and Lump Sums) will increase by 1.1%.

Other ACC financial support will increase as follows:

  • Funeral grants: $6,219.44;
  • Survivor’s grants: $6,668.03 for a partner and just over $3,330 for each child under 18 and each other dependent;
  • Weekly childcare payments: $141.79 for one child, $85.07 each for two children and $198.51 in total for three or more children.

Each year, ACC adjusts client payments and other financial support in line with changes to the cost of living. For weekly compensation payments the insurer used the Labour Cost Index and for other grants and allowances, the Consumer Price Index was used.
