Insurance Business has released its 2025 Hot List, identifying 70 insurance leaders across Australia and New Zealand who have demonstrated significant influence over the past year.

As 2025 unfolds, the insurance industry across both countries is navigating a market marked by early signs of softening. Despite this shift, core challenges persist.

Industry participants continue to address the implications of rising insurer competition, inflationary pressures, the integration of artificial intelligence, regulatory compliance, and evolving customer demands.

Climate resilience also remains a central theme, as stakeholders re-evaluate risk strategies amid environmental volatility.

Evaluation process and selection criteria

The Hot List was developed through a combination of direct industry outreach and independent research conducted in January 2025.

Insurance Business sought nominations and feedback from across the sector, aiming to spotlight professionals who had led strategic initiatives, influenced market trends, or demonstrated effective leadership through operational complexity.

From an initial pool exceeding 500 individuals, 70 executives were chosen based on their contributions to innovation, organisational performance, and sector leadership. Previous recognitions and awards were also considered as part of the assessment process.
