Vero New Zealand will take its 2026 Broker Roadshow to four centres in May and June, setting out its current priorities and plans for working with the intermediary market.

Roadshow focuses on intermediary strategy and market conditions

Branded “Accelerate: Backing brokers in a changing world,” the Vero Broker Roadshow will visit Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, and Hamilton. The programme is aimed at brokers and advisers and will cover trends Vero identifies in general insurance and advice in New Zealand, including economic pressures, shifts in risk, and changes in expectations around service and support. The events are structured around Vero’s use of the intermediary channel and the role brokers and advisers play in supporting customers with their risk profiles.

“Brokers are at the heart of our business, and these roadshows are about strengthening the relationships that matter most. We want attendees to leave with practical insights, a clearer understanding of where the market is heading, and confidence that we’re continuing to invest in the tools, expertise and support that help them deliver for customers,” said Jane Brewer, executive general manager – consumer. Sessions will look at how macroeconomic and risk developments are influencing pricing, capacity, and coverage, as well as how Vero is investing in capability, service, and tools for intermediated business.

Leadership and external speakers to present

Members of Vero’s leadership team, including chief executive Jimmy Higgins, Brewer, and Sacha Cowlrick, executive general manager – business, are scheduled to speak at the roadshow. They are expected to outline the insurer’s strategic direction over the next few years and its plans for digital capability, underwriting support, and claims service for brokers. Vero has also engaged external speakers. Economist Shamubeel Eaqub will present at the Auckland and Hamilton events, focusing on economic conditions, risk pressures on households and businesses, and the implications for insurance demand and affordability. In Wellington and Christchurch, Frederik Mayeres – managing director and partner at Boston Consulting Group in Sydney – is expected to discuss global insurance and customer trends and what they may mean for intermediated advice and distribution models.

Cowlrick commented: “Our operating environment is evolving quickly, and how we respond together will shape the years ahead. These roadshows are an opportunity to share where we’re heading as a business, the challenges emerging across the market, and the practical ways we’re helping advisers support customers with confidence.” Each event will close with networking drinks, and attendees will receive two IBANZ-accredited continuing professional development (CPD) points.
