Mark Roper (pictured) has joined Hagerty International Limited (Hagerty UK) as managing director.

The key hire made the switch from Priority Pass operator Collinson where he was in charge of the loyalty and travel services company’s global commercial development.

Roper’s credentials also include time spent as loyalty head at Lloyds Bank; UK and Nordics merchant services general manager, American Express; and consumer and affinity managing director, Aon.

“Mark’s appointment will be instrumental in achieving our vision to further expand the Hagerty brand in the UK,” said global markets president Jack Butcher.

“Mark has a long and esteemed career within membership, loyalty, and insurance, and with his leadership experience Hagerty will further strengthen its place at the heart of UK automotive culture.”

At Hagerty UK, Roper will be responsible for the brand’s growth in enthusiast vehicle insurance, among other things. Meanwhile, it’s not clear what happens to ex-MD Lee Mathewson, the Hagerty executive who last year moved from the US to lead the group’s UK team.

Specialising in classic car insurance, the business offers discounted premiums and insures vehicles on an agreed-value basis. All Hagerty UK policies also include British and European breakdown and recovery insurance.
