Managing general agent Alta Signa has installed seven technical underwriting heads as part of the company’s new underwriting structure.

In a release, the European MGA announced the following promotions to the role of head of technical underwriting:

  • Ingo Trede – financial & professional lines and cyber
  • Francesco Dubbioso – marine
  • Wolfgang Polzer – directors & officers
  • Sytse Huidekoper – financial institutions
  • Mauro Marongiu – cyber
  • Barbara Vida – cargo
  • Danilo Fiore – hull & yachts

Trede will be assisted by Polzer, Huidekoper, and Marongiu; Dubbioso by Vida and Fiore. The goal is to combine local market knowledge with the expertise of the technical heads. Headquartered in Belgium, Alta Signa has offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, France, and Switzerland.

“One of our key differentiators as a business is having a presence on the ground in local markets whereby we are able to combine local knowledge and expertise in markets across Europe with local language skills, which creates a unique value proposition for the international (re)insurers that we work with,” chief executive Gerard Van Loon said.

The CEO added that having a dedicated pan-European underwriting team will further enhance the group’s value proposition. He said the technical underwriting heads will support Alta Signa’s existing branch management organisation for all relevant technical underwriting matters.
