Tom Fitzgerald is saying goodbye to Aon after nearly three decades with the enterprise.

Immediately transitioning his responsibilities, Fitzgerald most recently served as chief executive of Aon Broking – a role the global professional services company said it will not replace.

“It has been an absolute privilege to serve Aon for over 27 years,” commented the outgoing stalwart who also previously led Aon’s US commercial risk and health businesses.

“I began my professional career at Aon and the firm has left an indelible mark on me. I’m grateful for the partnership from colleagues and clients around the world, and energised by the idea of starting the next chapter of my career.”

No further details on what that next chapter will entail were provided.

“Tom is a global thinker with a proven track record of industry-leading innovation,” said Aon CEO Greg Case. “The firm recognises his many years of service and wishes him well as he begins the next chapter of his career.”
