Apollo Syndicate Management has appointed Taryn McHarg (pictured above) as group chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval.

According to the specialist insurer and reinsurer, McHarg joined the group during “an exciting period of development”. McHarg will build on the group’s recent growth and further develop its financial strategy through collaboration with capital partners, investors and wider stakeholders.

McHarg previously worked at Bupa, where she was most recently CFO for international markets – a role where she led global strategic change and transformation. Previous roles include head of internal audit for Australia and New Zealand at Bupa and executive director at EY, where she was responsible for financial services audit and advisory clients.

“Taryn is an accomplished leader with an impressive track record and significant diverse experience across finance transformation and change,” said David Ibeson, Apollo group CEO. “She will be leading a highly accomplished finance team that has been integral to our success in recent years, in particular Jamie MacDiarmid, finance director, who will continue to work closely with Taryn. We look forward to welcoming her to Apollo. It’s an exciting period for us, as we continue to grow and attract exceptional talent.”
