Arc Legal has named Ashley Law (pictured above) as its next chief executive, with the ANV-owned legal expenses specialist preparing for a new phase of growth.
The appointment of Law, effective May 1, 2026, and subject to regulatory approval, follows the decision of current CEO Lee Taylor to step down for personal reasons.
Arc Legal, part of ANV Group Holdings, provides legal expenses insurance and assistance products in the UK. Taylor will remain with Arc Legal until the end of June to support a structured handover.
ANV Group Holdings was created in December 2025 as a spin-off of AmTrust Financial Services’ MGA and fee businesses, backed by Blackstone. In that 2025 launch announcement, ANV was described as a multinational MGA platform writing a diversified mix of specialty and affinity products – with Arc Legal positioned as its legal expenses arm rather than a side line.
Arc Legal is one of seven subsidiaries under the ANV umbrella, alongside ANV Specialty, Risico, Collegiate, ANV Nordic, Qualis and Abacus. ANV has said the group employs more than 700 people across its operations, and more recent ANV statements have highlighted the UK as a key growth market.
In earlier disclosures, ANV also flagged acquisition-led expansion in Britain, signalling that businesses such as Arc Legal sit at the heart of its strategy rather than the margins.
Law joined Arc Legal as chief operating officer in December 2025 and has since played a central role in the firm’s operational and strategic direction.
Arc Legal said it has used the period since Law’s arrival to strengthen its senior leadership team in preparation for “the next phase” of growth under ANV.
Public profiles describe Law as an insurance executive with experience in general insurance, healthcare and retirement, and corporate transformation. That background in execution and operational change is expected to support both Arc Legal’s own plans and ANV’s wider ambitions for the business.
Law said Arc Legal’s strategy is centred on product delivery, customer outcomes and consistent service standards. “The business continues to grow, and the leadership team, reinforced over the past year, will maintain the momentum established under Mr Taylor’s tenure,” Law said.
Taylor said his departure from Arc Legal followed a period of personal reflection. “After careful consideration, I have made a decision to step back from the business to pursue personal interests,” he said. He described the transition as a collaborative process with a shared focus on positioning Arc Legal for what comes next under ANV ownership.
Law said his immediate priority is to maintain Arc Legal’s operational performance and the level of service expected by partners and customers. Looking further ahead, Law signalled an intent to expand Arc Legal’s presence in the legal expenses insurance market as part of ANV’s broader strategy.
