Rebeca Mitchell has joined ArgoGlobal as its new contingency underwriter, the Lloyd’s insurer has announced.

With her appointment taking effect immediately, Mitchell will report to David Boyle, class underwriter, contingency.

Commenting on Mitchell’s hiring, Boyle said ArgoGlobal has a “long-term strategy of seeking out the finest talent in the market.”

“People who can bring skills, experience and passion for excellence to our syndicate. Rebecca is the latest example of this philosophy,” Boyle said.

“Her deep understanding of the contingency sector, as well as an incredible array of contacts in the industry, will be a fantastic addition to our team,” he added.

Mitchell brings more than 11 years of experience in the insurance industry to her new role at ArgoGlobal.

She joins the Lloyd’s insurer from Brit Global Specialty, where she worked for eight years, most recently as assistant underwriter for contingency.

Mitchell joined Brit Global Specialty in 2008 as an underwriting assistant for bloodstock and contingency.

The new ArgoGlobal executive started her career in 2005 as an account handler for bloodstock at Lycetts Hamilton.
