It’s fair to say that many within the insurance sector were disappointed when the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) cancelled its 2020 event in light of coronavirus-related restrictions. Not that anyone didn’t understand the decision – but rather that the event has become something of an annual highlight for brokers and insurers alike, with most circling their calendars when the dates of the event are revealed.

Well, amid the gloom there is some good news – because the association has moved quickly to set its dates for 2021 – even before there is a calendar to put a marker on.

Those dates are May 12 and May 13 – with the event due to be staged at Manchester Central once again.

“We know that many people in the sector were, like ourselves at BIBA, hugely disappointed that it proved impossible for us to proceed with BIBA 2020,” said chief executive Steve White. “While we are still working through the implications, I wanted to let you know that pre-planning for 2021 is already underway. We have had many questions about next year’s event, and confirming the date and location now is the right thing to do.

“I would like to thank all exhibitors, sponsors, suppliers, contractors  and delegates for their understanding and support and we all very much look forward to seeing you back in Manchester next year.

“Meanwhile, myself and the rest of the BIBA team will continue to provide what guidance we can during these difficult times.”
