Brit has appointed Wayne Page as head of inclusion & diversity (I&D). He will report to Shane Kingston, chief risk officer, chief actuary and main proponent of the company’s I&D initiatives.

Page, working closely with the company’s I&D committee will act as the custodian of Brit’s I&D strategic vision and oversee its progress against its I&D objectives, a statement from the insurer said.

For the past five years, Page has worked in a range of roles to develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies. He has also worked with several charitable causes, including as an I&D adviser for Business In The Community. Before joining Brit, he was with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing where he worked to provide I&D strategy advice and delivery. Page also has experience in the financial services sector, having worked for eight years for the FCA as a regulatory supervisor prior to his I&D work, overseeing regulation for a number of large insurance firms.

“At Brit, inclusion, diversity and equality are very real business priorities and it is important to us that they are deeply embedded in all aspects of our business and culture,” said Matthew Wilson, Brit group CEO. “This is not just because it is the right thing to do, but because we believe it encourages more innovative thinking and results in better business outcomes. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone understands and celebrates the difference that diversity brings to an organisation and that allows all our people to reach their full potential. I am delighted to be welcoming Wayne into this key role as head of I&D to help take our work in this area to the next level.”
