Broadway Insurance Partners has expanded its senior leadership team with two appointments as the firm continues to grow its regional footprint and client base.

Stuart Lowe (pictured right) has joined as director of risk protection, bringing experience from his previous role at Reich. Nicola Blunt (pictured left), who most recently served as commercial director at Guy Penn Insurance, will lead the firm’s new Lancashire office as managing partner.

The appointments form part of a wider expansion strategy. Broadway opened an office in Liverpool in autumn 2024, which it said has helped drive activity in its healthcare division. That unit, led by director Emma Wood, recorded £1.5 million in gross written premiums (GWP) during its first full year of operation.

The firm has also launched a division focused on small and medium-sized enterprises, headed by Sam Gallimore. The addition complements Broadway’s existing services for private clients and larger businesses.

Broadway, which advises high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients, reported a 31% increase in its client base in 2024. Staff numbers rose by 20% to support growth across its operations. The broker arranged 45% more policies compared to the previous year, while GWP increased by one-third to exceed £12 million. The total value of assets insured by the firm reached over £3 billion, a 50% rise year-on-year.

According to chief executive Daniel Lloyd-John, Broadway is responding to growing demand for insurance advice tailored to specific risk exposures, particularly among SMEs and business leaders.

Broadway's corporate and private client divisions reported workload increases of 56% and 15% respectively. The SME team doubled the number of policies under management over the year, while the healthcare unit saw a 200% increase in business since January 2024.

The firm was founded in 2020 and has positioned itself as an alternative to large national brokers. It states that 70% of its clients previously worked with one of the six biggest firms in the UK market.

Broadway was included in rankings by Insurance Business for its work in the private client and risk management sectors.

Lloyd-John said the business expects continued growth into 2025, supported by recent developments in staff and service infrastructure.
