Chubb announces three new appointments
Chubb has appointed former Zurich veterans to its regional claims team.

The Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance firm has snapped up Marc Scheidegger and John Latter and has named them as claims directors. They will report to Steve Parry, director of claims, Europe and Eurasia & Africa.

London-based Latter is the new claims director for the UK and Ireland, while Scheidegger will be based in Paris to work as claims director for Continental Europe.

Latter was director of technical centre, UK claims at Zurich. The three-decade veteran has held a number of senior claims roles with both UK and international accountabilities.

Scheidegger, who has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, was chief claims officer for Zurich’s Hong Kong general insurance. He has also served in a series of senior claims roles with international responsibilities.

“Marc and John will direct the delivery of Chubb’s claims service in these two regions. With their wealth of European and wider international experience, great technical expertise, and strong track record of providing both leadership and customer focus in claims handling, they are a great addition to the team,” commented Parry.

Chubb has also appointed Kevin Smith as European claims service manager. Based in London and also reporting to Parry, Smith will be responsible for overall service delivery across Europe and will focus on major multinational accounts.

Smith, who first joined the insurer in 2003 as property claims adjuster in London, will also look after the development of Chubb’s service proposition across the middle market and SME sectors. After holding a number of external roles in technical and claims management, he returned in 2013 as assistant property claims manager, Europe.

“These appointments further demonstrate the fundamental importance of claims within our business and our commitment to continually improving customer service in a market where our reputation for claims excellence remains a powerful differentiator,” said Parry.
