The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has tapped policy & strategy expert Helen White as director of Insuring Futures.

White’s experience includes nearly a decade at the Association of British Insurers where she led various areas of market policy and strategy for the industry; four years at the European Commission; as well as government work driving policy and legislative change on international tax and share-based earnings. Most recently she was financial capability head at the Money Advice Service.

At CII, White will be in charge of leading the first stage of the Insuring Futures programme, which is “Insuring Women’s Futures” – the initiative aimed at improving the financial resilience, independence, and security of women. The role will see her spearheading market collaborations to develop strategies addressing existing risks and financial gaps.

“The Insuring Futures programme was created to challenge accepted convention and drive education and innovation to ensure insurance and financial planning products fully respond to the risks faced by society,” commented CII chief executive Sian Fisher. “Helen will play a key role in driving this forward and we are very excited to have her on board.

“The skills and experience that she brings with her will be a huge asset as we develop and deliver our Insuring Futures initiative.”
