Red Apple Brokers, an own-branded brokerage led by Ismaeel Latif (pictured above), has opened in Oldham, Manchester, the latest addition to the Coversure Network as the franchise accelerates its expansion across the UK.

Latif, who has close to a decade of industry experience, began his career at Swinton before striking out on his own through Coversure. Red Apple Brokers operates under its own brand identity while drawing on the network's trading infrastructure and market relationships.

The launch brings the number of new offices to have joined the Coversure Network over the past 12 months to 11 - a marked pickup from the six new franchisees that joined in 2023.

Coversure now counts more than 90 offices nationwide, and its parent group has signalled further ambitions, with Jensten Group pledging to invest up to £1 million this year to help 15 individuals establish their own brokerages.

Coversure operates as part of the wider Jensten Group, which was formed in 2018 following a management buyout of Coversure Insurance Services Group backed by Livingbridge. The franchise model itself dates back to 1986.

Through organic growth and a series of acquisitions - 37 to date, including 14 from its own franchise network, Bain Capital noted - Jensten has grown into a top-10 independent UK broker placing more than £650 million in gross written premium.

Manchester's draw

The choice of Manchester is no accident. Greater Manchester has emerged as the fastest-growing part of the UK economy over the past decade, with annual growth of 3.1% - more than double the national rate, the Greater Manchester Business Board reported in November 2025. The city region unveiled a £1 billion Good Growth Fund to sustain that momentum.

Manchester also offers a cost advantage for start-up brokerages. The city's operating costs run up to 20% lower than London's, Invest in Manchester has noted, while the region's established financial services cluster ranks among the strongest outside the capital.

Latif credited the Jensten Network's role in helping him launch Red Apple Brokers, calling the support and market access "invaluable".

Jordan Maskell, network director at Coversure, said a growing number of younger professionals are seeking to build their own brokerages, with Coversure providing the infrastructure to make that possible.

He described Red Apple Brokers as an example of the entrepreneurial drive shaping the network's growth.
