Elaine Lennox (pictured), who joined insurance broker Gallagher in 2018, has been appointed as regional managing director for the Midlands after serving as leisure MD.

“Having worked closely with the team in the Midlands at Gallagher for five years, I am really excited about this new opportunity,” the internal hire said in an emailed release.

“Gallagher has a sizeable presence in the region, both in terms of our team, which is 250 risk professionals strong, and our client portfolio. I am looking forward to expanding our current operations and product offerings to further build on the success we have achieved to date.”

In her new role, Lennox will be responsible for Gallagher’s regional offices in Birmingham, Coventry, and Leicester. Additionally, she will also be in charge of the company’s Birmingham-based charity practice.

Peter Matthews, managing director of the North in Gallagher’s UK & Ireland retail division, commented: “I’m delighted that Elaine has agreed to lead Gallagher’s Midlands operations. Over the last five years Elaine has done a fantastic job heading up our leisure practice, and her extensive experience makes her the ideal candidate for this new role in my management team.

“With more than 20 years of industry experience Elaine brings outstanding leadership skills, coupled with a deep understanding of market and distribution channels that will enable her to build on Gallagher’s success in the Midlands.”

Lennox’s credentials include time spent at Zurich, Thistle, and Jardine Lloyd Thompson.

“We see strong opportunities for Gallagher in this strategically important region of the UK which has benefited from extensive economic investment in recent years resulting in the area having the UK’s fastest growing local economy,” added Matthews.
