Gallagher, the title sponsor of the UK’s Premiership Rugby, has expressed continued support for another sports tournament – one which is participated in by the insurance industry.

Renewing its sponsorship of the Dive In Community Cup, the brokerage giant will once again see itself co-hosting the event with East End Phoenix Football Club. Happening on September 14 at the Powerleague Docklands, the Dive In Community Cup features not only local community-based football sides but also teams from across the London insurance market.

The tournament, which was launched in 2017, kicks off the international festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance taking place on September 25-27.

“We’re proud to be back for a second year sponsoring the Dive In Community Cup,” commented Gallagher HR director Elisabeth Ibeson. “Sport encourages individual performance as well as team collaboration, both of which are essential in fostering the more diverse and inclusive workplaces that Gallagher and the wider insurance industry are committed to developing.

“Last year we had a fantastic turnout and a great fun tournament, so we look forward to making the 2018 Community Cup an even greater success.”

Pauline Miller, head of talent development and inclusion at Lloyd’s, said sport has the power to unite and inspire people regardless of sexuality, age, race, religion, or ability.

She noted: “Through sport we have the ability to break down barriers to inclusion as well as promote healthy lifestyles and mental well-being, so it’s great to announce the Dive In Community Cup is back for a second year and we thank Gallagher for its continued support.”

Meanwhile East End Phoenix FC, which encourages participation in the sport from all groups in the local community, said it provides an inclusive, friendly, and social environment. “We look forward to supporting the Dive In initiative during the 2018 tournament and in all future programmes,” commented Felix Caldeira.
