Birmingham, the largest single region in the UK for Hiscox, is getting a boost.

Steve Morse, who has been with the specialist global insurer for 13 years, has been promoted to regional manager in charge of beefing up Hiscox’s presence in Birmingham and nurturing existing relationships with brokers. Reporting to UK and Ireland sales director Derrick Potton, the company veteran will be responsible for the “critical” region.

Potton cited Morse’s passion, wealth of experience, and local market knowledge. The regional manager has held several underwriting, product, and sales positions at Hiscox not only in Birmingham but also in London. He most recently led the London art and private client division.

“Steve has a very strong track record of delivery at Hiscox, and I am hugely excited about what he will bring to this role,” said the sales director.

Hiscox, which employs more than 2,700 people in 14 countries, provides home insurance cover for over 60,000 UK households. The insurer also caters to about 150,000 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), professionals, and consultants in the UK.

“Birmingham is a critical region for Hiscox, and I’m delighted to be working with such a strong team to build on the successful broker network they have already established,” commented Morse.
