International broker HW International has rebranded as Dubois, consolidating its European and Australian operations under a single global name as the business continues its post-buyout integration strategy.
As part of the move, the group’s Australian entity, HW Wood Australia Pty Ltd, will be renamed Dubois Insurance Pty Ltd.
The rebrand follows the firm’s management buyout in 2025 and marks the next phase of development under family ownership, the company said.
Owner Maurits Kleingeld (pictured left) said the new brand is intended to reflect both the business’s heritage and its increasingly integrated international operating model.
“Dubois brings together everything we have built over the years under one name,” Kleingeld said. “It reflects where we started and how we work today, with a focus on clear advice, personal relationships, and delivering results our clients can rely on.”
The name references the group’s origins under founder Hugh Wood, with “Dubois” translating to “of wood.”
Founded in London in 1982, the broker has expanded from a specialist adviser into an international placement business spanning Europe and Australia, with operations across commercial insurance, fine art and collectibles, film and entertainment, marine, real estate, employee benefits, credit and surety, and multinational programmes.
Global CEO Juan Alberto Garcia (pictured right) said the rebrand is not accompanied by operational restructuring, but instead provides a more unified market identity.
“We are building on an existing business, with the same teams and expertise in place,” Garcia said. “This gives us a clearer and more consistent way to present ourselves across all regions.”
The move reflects a broader trend across the broking sector, where intermediaries have increasingly moved to simplify legacy brand structures and present a more unified front to multinational clients as cross-border placement and servicing demands become more complex.
Dubois said the rebrand will also extend to other group entities, with Spanish employee benefits and consulting arm Lignorum to be renamed Dubois Advisory, S.L..
The group also operates specialist MGA platform Nuvu and its Dubois Global Broker Network, which connects partner brokers across multiple jurisdictions.
The new branding will be rolled out across the business’s offices, communications and digital platforms in the coming days.
