Several insurance and insurtech firms have announced leadership changes and expanded offerings as part of ongoing efforts to grow their portfolios, enter new markets and respond to evolving sector demands.

Arch appoints head of construction

Arch Insurance International has appointed Tim Chapman (pictured above, left) as head of construction, a newly created role aimed at building the firm’s construction portfolio and expanding its global open-market presence.

Based in London, Chapman reports to Jake Gibbs, head of marine, energy and construction.

Chapman brings over 25 years of experience underwriting infrastructure projects. He was previously Global Segment Leader for Civil Works and EMEA head of construction at SCOR. He has also held a senior underwriting role at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.

According to Lino Leoni, chief underwriting officer for Short Tail Lines, the appointment reflects Arch’s focus on expanding its offering in the construction space.

Send appoints chief revenue officer

Underwriting technology provider Send has appointed Steve Ritchie (pictured above, centre) as chief revenue officer. In the role, Ritchie will oversee global revenue strategy, new business and market expansion, with a particular focus on scaling in North America.

Ritchie has held several senior commercial roles, most recently as CRO at Pavilion Payments. He has also worked with private equity-backed firms on commercial strategy and operational growth.

Send CEO Andy Moss said the appointment is intended to support the company’s next phase of development as it expands its underwriting platform across new markets.

Geneva Association elects two insurance CEOs to board

The Geneva Association has appointed Andreas Berger, group CEO of Swiss Re, and Andrew Sullivan, CEO of Prudential Financial, to its board of directors.

The announcement was made during the association’s 2025 General Assembly, held in New York City on May 29 to 30.

The event, which convened 58 CEOs, from global insurance and reinsurance firms, explored industry strategies amid geopolitical and environmental shifts. Berger and Sullivan will join a board that also renewed Jad Ariss’ mandate as managing director for another two years.

The Geneva Association, which represents insurance CEOs globally, focuses on research, industry dialogue, and risk-related policy discussions.

HIVE Underwriters to launch space line with key appointment

HIVE Underwriters has announced its planned entry into the space insurance market with the appointment of Jack Kenneally (pictured above, right) as class underwriter. He will join HIVE following the completion of his notice period with Occam Underwriting.

Kenneally is expected to develop the new space portfolio, adding to HIVE’s existing aviation lines. The MGA currently underwrites airline and general aviation hull and liabilities, aviation war, and excess war liability cover.

The appointment aligns with HIVE’s strategy to broaden its specialty lines and attract sector talent to support business expansion.
