HDI Global and Gallagher Bassett have each announced key leadership appointments, while Towergate Employee Benefits has expanded its international consultancy team.

HDI Global leadership changes in liability division

Effective November 1, HDI Global will appoint Dennis Siebrasse (pictured above, left) as head of liability underwriting Europe. Siebrasse previously held the position of head of technical & strategic services – long tail within the division overseen by executive board member Dr Mukadder Erdönmez, who is responsible for liability, cyber, and motor.

In his new role, Siebrasse will lead underwriting activities across HDI Global’s core European markets.

Dr Pascal Nef, meanwhile, will take over Siebrasse’s former position, bringing over a decade of experience in insurance analytics. Most recently at Swiss Re, Nef led the Risk Consulting & Analytics team for the EMEA region.

His responsibilities included developing profitability strategies, supporting growth initiatives, and reinforcing underwriting practices for corporate and commercial insurers.

Since March this year, Mark Appleton had managed HDI Global’s local liability units on an interim basis. During this period, he contributed to the ongoing development of the company’s liability portfolio.

Last month, the company also named Dr Christian Wegener (pictured above) as its new head of investment management, taking over the role within the finance department under CFO Dr Stefan Pasternak and succeeding Thorsten Wölbern.

Gallagher Bassett UK appoints new client services director

Gallagher Bassett (GB) has appointed Sarah Penny (pictured above, right) as client services director for its UK operations. Reporting to chief operating officer John Fearn, Penny will oversee corporate and carrier client relationships.

She will also collaborate with GB’s business development team to streamline new client onboarding and enhance services for existing accounts.

Penny has 15 years of experience in the insurance sector. Her previous roles include positions at Previsico, Liberty Specialty Markets, Pen Underwriting, Ecclesiastical, and Allianz Insurance. Having begun her career as a claims handler, she has since held management roles focused on relationship management, business development, and partnerships.

She will work alongside Charlotte Harrison and Stephen Bevan, who were recently promoted to head of carrier and market relationships, and head of corporate relationships and client analytics, respectively.

In April, Gallagher Bassett also appointed Mark Garnham as director of first response and managed repair.

Towergate Employee Benefits expands global benefits team

Towergate Employee Benefits has added Roberto Russo to its international division as global benefits management – principal consultant.

Reporting to Sarah Dennis, head of international, Russo will be responsible for client relationship management, business development, and internal team support.
