Three international insurers have unveiled senior appointments across their London, Paris and Benelux operations, spanning fine art and specie, claims, and regional general management.

Markel taps new lead for fine art and specie

Markel Insurance, the insurance arm of Markel Group, has named Danny O'Donoghue (pictured above, left) as head of fine art and specie, effective immediately.

O'Donoghue will lead the expansion of Markel's fine art and specie portfolio in London, with underwriting responsibility spanning fine art, specie, jewellers block and cash in transit. He will also support the professional development of underwriters in his team.

The role includes broker engagement and coordination with Markel's claims and actuarial functions to keep coverage aligned with market developments. He will also identify cross-border opportunities with Markel's international fine art and specie teams to drive growth.

Based in London, O'Donoghue reports to Dan McCarthy, director of marine at Markel International.

Arch appoints claims manager in Paris

Arch Insurance France has named Charlotte Jephos as claims manager with immediate effect.

Jephos will oversee Arch's claims across France, including cyber, casualty and executive assurance lines. Based in Paris, she reports to Ray Graham, head of claims for Arch Insurance EU.

She joins from Beazley, where she held a claims manager role, and previously held claims positions at AIG. Before moving into insurance, she practised as a litigation lawyer in Paris, and brings more than 10 years of market experience.

Liberty names regional general manager for Northern Europe

Liberty Specialty Markets, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Monique Kooijman (pictured above, right) as general manager for the Netherlands, Belgium and the Nordics, subject to regulatory approval.

Kooijman will be based in the Netherlands and report to Pierre-Edouard Fraigneau, president of Liberty Europe.

She joins from Everest, where she served as head of Northern Europe, with responsibility for regional growth and broker relationships. Her career spans more than 30 years in international insurance, including senior leadership roles at Chubb and CNA Hardy.

At CNA Hardy, Kooijman was regional director covering Benelux, Germany and the Nordics. She previously spent 25 years at Chubb in senior positions across claims, underwriting and as country manager.
