Several key appointments have been announced across the insurance sector.

New head of insurance relationships at Winn Group

Mike Wall has been appointed as Winn Group’s new head of insurance relationships. With four decades of experience in the industry, Wall will be responsible for strengthening existing business relationships and exploring new opportunities, particularly in the managing general agent (MGA) sector.

Wall previously served as managing director at Fresh Insurance before joining Markerstudy’s senior leadership team. He will report to Winn Group CEO Chris Birkett.

Arch Insurance strengthens casualty team in Spain

Arch Insurance has appointed Carmen Cobeta as head of casualty, Spain, and Irene Fernandez Franic as senior casualty underwriter. Based in Madrid, they will focus on expanding Arch’s casualty portfolio in Spain and Portugal.

Cobeta joins from QBE Europe, where she held roles including regional broker relationship manager and liability portfolio manager. Meanwhile, Fernandez Franic previously served as head of international construction at Howden and has held positions at Aon, Generali and QBE Europe.

DWF names strategic adviser

Suzanne Liversidge (pictured above, left) has been named strategic adviser at DWF to support its global growth strategy. She will work with Matthey Doughty, CEO of the Insurance Services division, and David Abbott, senior partner, to drive expansion initiatives, support client relationships and integrate mergers and acquisitions.

Liversidge previously served as global managing partner at Kennedys and has experience in the insurance sector, client relationship management and strategic growth.

AEGIS London’s new chief risk and compliance officer

AEGIS London has named Charity Bare (pictured above, centre) as chief risk and compliance officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Bare previously held senior risk management roles at Brit, Talbot, Nephila and Canopius Group. She will report to CEO Alex Powell and lead a team responsible for risk, exposure management and compliance.

Westfield Specialty makes a promotion

Westfield Specialty International has promoted Jeremy Shallow (pictured above, right) to chief underwriting officer and active underwriter of Syndicate 1200, subject to regulatory approval.

Shallow, who was previously deputy CUO and head of specialty, will report to Graham Evans, EVP and head of international insurance. He has two decades of experience in the industry, having previously worked at Aspen and WestLB.
