Intact Insurance has added Guardian Group and Ceylinco Insurance as partners in the Intact Global Network, expanding its multinational reach from more than 150 countries and territories to more than 170.
Guardian Group extends Intact’s presence across the Caribbean, complementing existing network partners in Trinidad and the Bahamas. It adds Aruba, Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire, the British Virgin Islands, Curaçao, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, Saba, Saint Eustatius, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Sint Maarten and St Vincent. Ceylinco Insurance adds the Maldives.
The network allows businesses to buy co-ordinated multinational programmes, with locally compliant policies issued through network partners in each country under central oversight.
“Expanding our network to more than 170 countries and territories worldwide gives our brokers and customers greater confidence that they can access high-quality local expertise and consistent service wherever they operate,” said Barbara O’Reilly, vice president, global network and multinational, UK and Europe, at Intact Insurance.
O’Reilly said the expansion was another step towards Intact’s ambition to be a leading global specialty lines insurer.
The move supports Intact’s UK growth strategy. RSA and NIG were rebranded as Intact Insurance across the UK, Ireland and Europe in October 2025. Intact describes itself as a top five UK commercial lines insurer, and has said it wants to grow its UK business from £2.7 billion to £5 billion by 2030.
Multinational capability is becoming a sharper point of competition. Several carriers have strengthened local presence in recent weeks. Starr opened a branch in Milan, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance entered Poland, and HDI Global named a new managing director for France, a key hub in its multinational network.
For brokers handling UK-headquartered clients with operations in the Caribbean or the Maldives, the expansion adds a network option for issuing local policies in territories where multinational capacity can be thin. Many of those markets have significant hospitality, financial services and offshore business, and the Caribbean carries high hurricane exposure. That makes locally compliant property cover with local claims support particularly important.
Brokers should check how each new partner handles local policy issuance, premium tax and claims service, and how Intact co-ordinates those across a programme. Network size counts for less than the quality of service in each country when a claim arises.
