Hastings Insurance has announced that John Castagno, a non-executive director, has stepped down.

Castagno, who joined the board in January 2008, left the position as of September 30, the company said.

Hastings, which provides general insurance to over 2.2 million customers in the UK market, has announced the appointment of Sue Amies-King and Valerie Dias to its board as non-executive directors.

Peter Blanc, non-executive chairman, thanked Castagno for his contribution, adding: “John has provided valuable insight and oversight to the company over the past eight and a half years in what has been a transformational period for the business.”
