Markel International has a new underwriter in the form of Tom Simpson, who brings more than 15 years of insurance experience.
Augmenting the specialist insurer’s terrorism team, Simpson joins as war and terrorism underwriter and will report to senior underwriter Ed Winter. Prior to Markel International, the industry veteran served as political violence underwriter at Axis Capital.
“We are delighted to add Tom to our team,” commented Winter. “Tom will work alongside underwriters Chloe Gordge and Will Newman, and his hire progresses our ambitions for this class of business.”
Meanwhile marine managing director Chris Fenn said “it’s great to see” Markel International’s terrorism team go from strength to strength amid constantly evolving war and terrorism coverage.
