Global brokerage giant Marsh has selected Adrian Willmott to head its unit that provides risk, insurance and claims advice to public sector organisations across the UK and Ireland.

Willmott has been appointed as leader of Marsh’s public entities and social housing practice. He will report to Steve Bonynge, proposition leader, corporate practice.

Based in London, Willmott will have overall responsibility for delivering services and solutions to local and central government, state agencies, emergency services and social housing providers.

“Local and central government, government agencies, emergency services, and social housing providers need to shape strong and vibrant communities, while controlling their costs and building resilience into the delivery of their services,” Willmott said.

“I look forward to working with the team to deliver the services and solutions that our clients require in order to meet these challenges,” he added.

Bonynge said the public sector in the UK and Ireland are facing an “increasingly complex risk landscape, with weather-related risks, regulation and cyber threats high on risk managers’ agendas.”

“Under Adrian’s leadership, Marsh’s Public Entities and Social Housing Practice is well-placed to advise our clients on how to tackle these risks and leverage insurance to manage their impact more effectively,” he said.

Willmott joined Marsh in 2007 and previously led the firm’s national corporate practice in the London South East region.
