Modus Underwriting Ltd, the digital managing general agent that became part of the OneAdvent family this year, has brought in a familiar name to serve as its non-executive chairman.

Assuming the post is Covéa Insurance veteran and Qlaims Ltd non-executive chair Simon Cooter (pictured), who was tapped by the niche property insurance MGA for his broker distribution channel and e-trading systems knowledge and proven track record guiding enterprises to growth.

“Seeing Simon join the Modus team is a real coup for us,” said Modus managing director Simon Read. “His heavyweight leadership experience in the e-trading space in particular, will not only strengthen our board but also our entire digital customer proposition, as we continue to build new and innovative niche products for our broker partners.”

Modus came to life in 2015 as a data-driven insurance provider with a focus on the landlord sector. It distributes fully-automated, e-traded insurance products and solutions through FCA-authorised (Financial Conduct Authority) intermediaries in the UK.

Commenting on his appointment, which is subject to regulatory approval, Cooter stated: “I’m delighted to be joining the Modus team.
