Lloyd’s (re)insurer MS Amlin, which is currently led by chief executive Andrew Carrier following his promotion from chief underwriting officer, has made further role changes to streamline reporting and enhance underwriting efficiency.

Newly installed reinsurance head Grant Baxter is now also MS Amlin’s interim CUO, reporting to Carrier as the newest member of the insurer’s executive committee. The C-suite appointments of both Carrier and Baxter took effect on January 1.

Meanwhile Neil Walker and Sam Geddes have become co-deputy CUO under Baxter, with Geddes still responsible for property and auto while Walker takes charge of specialty insurance.

“I am delighted to start the year by announcing these changes to our senior underwriting team,” said Carrier. “Grant’s skill, knowledge, and experience as a first-rate industry leader will give us the momentum to continue to ensure underwriting is at the heart of our strategy and business operations.

“Neil and Sam are highly respected and proven leaders in their own right, and their collaborative expertise will only further reinforce the robust bench of our underwriting team.”
