Peter Staddon (pictured) may have retired – leaving the Managing General Agents’ Association after nearly seven years as the trade body’s managing director – but the industry stalwart isn’t done putting his expertise to good use just yet.

Effective November 02, Staddon is coming onboard niche managing general agent Landmark Holding Group to serve as non-executive chairman. He brings decades of insurance experience, which includes 15 years spent at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association.

“Having Peter join the Landmark family is an exciting opportunity for us all,” said group chief executive Ross Lazaroo-Hood. “On behalf of the other directors, Sitki Gelmen and David Robinson, we are overwhelmed for his appointment to our board.

“His vast knowledge and leadership experience enhances our board and at a very exciting time in Landmark’s growth strategy. We look forward to working with Peter over the coming months to advance our broker proposition and assist in [advancing] our existing platform into state-of-the-art products.”

Based in London, independently owned Landmark came to life in 2017 and is the name behind Landmark Underwriting, Landmark MGA, Landmark Chelsea Underwriting, Landmark Underwriting Asia, Landmark Underwriting Turkey, and Landmark Commercial Direct.

“I’m delighted to be joining Landmark, Ross Lazaroo-Hood, Sitki Gelmen, and David Robinson who have developed Landmark with a strong foundation and a first-class team surrounding them,” commented Staddon.

“The entrepreneurial spirit from these chaps and underwriting expertise from the team is a winning formula that does provide their loyal broking partners with the tools to engage with clients’ wants and needs in these very challenging times. I look forward to encourage and expand upon the exciting vision for Landmark’s future.”
