PIB Group Ltd (PIB) has today announced that it has selected PIB Insurance Brokers (PIB IB) as the parent brand for its specialist commercial businesses. This move will change the brand of 12 businesses, all of which are within the group’s speciality division, which houses its specialist commercial lines.

The companies to trade going forward under the name PIB Insurance Brokers include: Cooke & Mason, DE Ford, Franklands, Lorica, PIB Private Clients, PIB SME Insurance, Wilby (including Websters Insurance Brokers), WW Group, BKG West, Cobra Insurance Brokers and QPI.

The programme is on track to complete in the final quarter of 2020.

PIB IB, which was formed in 2015 as the original company of PIB Group, specialises in a range of areas including property, construction and trade credit. PIB has grown extensively through acquisitions, and the CEO of the Group, Brendan McManus outlined how simplifying the structure of its specialist businesses is an important step in further strengthening the PIB IB brand and will reinforce the placement of collaboration at the heart of everything the business does.

“All our businesses within the specialty division have made an important contribution to our success today,” he said, “and bringing them together to trade as one is a natural phase in our evolution so that clients can enjoy easier access to our extensive offering and expertise.”

The programme will see specialisms within the PIB insurance business offering grow to include areas such as real estate, leisure, construction, haulage and charities. It will also complement the existing PIB Risk Management and PIB Employee Benefits businesses to offer a unified and collective approach.

The speciality division of PIB is formed of approximately 500 people across 30 national branches and the existing teams and contact details of these staff will stay the same. Steve Redgwell, CEO for PIB’s specialty division, said he is excited to see the speciality division continue to evolve and grow in brand strength.

“We are proud of the heritage and achievements that have made our businesses successful today, and whose values are shared and aligned to PIB Insurance Brokers which will be our dominant brand,” Redgwell said. “We will continue to put our clients at the forefront of our thinking in everything we do, maintaining local professional service, while celebrating and building on our specialisms as well as developing and growing our people.”
