New captive manager Polo Insurance Managers (PIM) has been launched by PoloWorks after ‘approval in principle’ was granted by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.

“We see a tremendous opportunity as a truly independent insurance manager to offer our existing and future clients with a comprehensive and bespoke insurance management service,” PIM chief executive Mark Elliott said in an emailed release.

PIM’s core executive team, which will initially be based in Guernsey, will be supported by Polo Commercial Insurance Services (PCIS). A division of PoloWorks, PCIS employs 350 insurance specialists in the UK.

“As part of the PoloWorks business, PIM will be able to leverage substantial in-group expertise and modern technology to offer a market-beating insurance manager proposition,” said PoloWorks CEO Paul Andrews, whose camp is also the name behind Polo Managing Agency.
