After installing heads of trading for Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, and Manchester earlier this year, QBE has now created a new trading head post for Glasgow/Belfast.

To be based in Glasgow, Chris Long joins QBE from Allianz where he served as distribution manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland. In his new role, Long will be in charge of the regional underwriting teams in the Glasgow and Belfast regional offices.

Reiterating a previous statement, UK regions director Andy Fitzgerald said: “We have gained real traction across all our regional offices, and Chris’s appointment will further strengthen our growth agenda in Glasgow and Belfast.

“We have an overall plan to materially grow in the UK through to 2027, and this appointment will further strengthen our ambition to position the UK regions as a driving force behind our growth.”

The other regions are led by trading heads David Round (Birmingham), Steve Field (Bristol), Janine Wood (Leeds), and Stacey Flannery (Manchester).
