QuestGates has acquired Bristol-based QCH Legal, adding legal services to the claims management group’s capabilities.

“As we celebrate our 20th year in business, we are excited to be entering a new specialism and scaling our operation, cementing our position as the UK’s largest independent loss adjusting and claims solutions group,” QuestGates managing director Chris Hall said in a release.

“We are already targeting further recruitment to enable us to increase the type and volume of cases that QCH can handle, but this will be consistent with QuestGates strategy of establishing and meeting our clients’ needs in specialist areas.”

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, was described by QuestGates as “another key milestone” following recent purchases. Further transactions, meanwhile, are expected to be announced in due course.

What’s next for QCH Legal?

According to QuestGates, QCH Legal – a firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority – will continue to operate under its existing brand, while Kevin Morgan is staying put as a director.

One change, aside from the benefits of being part of QuestGates, is the appointment of Jason Spencer as a consultant. The Crawford Legal Services alumnus will focus on developing QuestGates’ legal services division.

Spencer’s credentials include time spent as a partner at Hill Dickinson and Plexus Law, and as founder and managing director of Crawford’s UK legal services business.
